To Take Time to be Present
It is not just a lifestyle, it is a a whole new perspective
It can be hard to slow down in this busy world
Phew, the last year picked me up like a tidal wave. Being a new mom and owning a small business makes for a lot of tasks in 24-hours. I have the impression of being on automatism since the birth of my little one and to live on the anticipation of tomorrow's tasks without being aware of the time that passes in front of me. Luckily, there are those little kisses from my little one to anchor me in the present moment for a while, yet the call of productivity uproots me quickly enough to bring me back to my ever-growing "To-do" list. .
And on September 14, I received an email from BESIDE Habitat inviting me to stay a few days in one of their chalets to experience the destination. As they say, there are no coincidences, only appointments in life. This one-on-one with nature was planned. So, sleep deprived and somewhat out of breath, I boldly accepted the invitation. I didn't have to be asked, this stay, I really needed it.

Autumn is usually for me and my company a time to take it slow and appreciate the weather, because it's the calm before the storm. The holiday season is our storm at Apprenti Ôr’ganik, a storm that is always welcomed by the company’s wallet and that of the family, but which leads us to reflect on this frantic momentum of consumption. Autumn is the time when we stop, take a break and immerse ourselves in the values of the company to be able to create our own balance, our own Yin and Yang to brave the polarizing holiday season. This year, if it weren't for this invitation, we wouldn't have taken this break because our responsibilities as new parents have somewhat pushed some less urgent tasks for Apprenti Ôr'ganik. We haven't quite mastered the art of juggling yet.

''I strongly believe that places communicate with us, it is their partition that surrounds us, protects us and envelops us, they certainly have an impact and an influence on our state of being.''

It was on October 17 that we went as a family to BESIDE habitat And it was quite a meeting. We had a lesson to learn from the stay, from this space. A philosophical writing from the Tao Te Ching says "When the student is ready, the teacher appears." Overworked, we needed to relearn how to slow down, to relearn how to live in the present. Returning to BESIDE was as if time passed slowly, with a pleasant slowness that allows time to truly be lived. Which, at the same time, made us realize that we had lost our footing in space-time, we were no longer living, we were surviving on the projects of tomorrow. To live is to be there body and soul and to receive the passing moment that comes only once as a gift. There are two ways to make love, you can be there physically and have your head elsewhere, as you can decide to live fully from the strength of this moment, to be present with all our senses. I want to live my life like I want to make love. Exist as it should. To be there for real. I usually have this kind of teaching, this return to basics when I walk alone in nature. This is to say how my chalet cohabited so harmoniously with the surrounding nature, an exchange and a beautiful respect between man and the land. I strongly believe that places communicate with us, it is their partition that surrounds us, protects us and envelops us, they certainly have an impact and an influence on our state of being. What I had to learn from this place is to simply live. Tomorrow only really exists in our mind. We really needed this lesson. As I said above, meetings are no coincidence.
And nature always invites us.
